Hill Country Archaeological Association - John Benedict - Preserving the Past

Hill Country Archeological Association  (HCAA) holds their general meetings at the Riverside nature center to study, record, and preserve the Hill Country's prehistoric heritage.  John Benedict, a member of the group, volunteers his time.  They have a love of history, archeology and love learning.  The group is made up of volunteers. HCAA will come onto a property, when notified - commercial or personal- record and preserve the historic and archeological data and relics found.  All artifacts are return to the landowners are they are recorded and documented.They work closely with land owners to record and survey historical sites.  A historical site does not reduce the property value nor will  the work the HCAA do delay construction on a landowners site in general.  There are more the 70,000 sites in Texas 820 in Kerr county some dating back more than 10,000 years.  it is important to a get sites recorded before they are lost.  The website for HCAA is: www.HCArcheology.org  or you can contact Steve Stoutamire info@hca@hcarcheology.org  830-370-8947
