  Family in Rotary

 

    Our Family in Rotary is prominent, to say the least, on the athletic field:

 

    We had four club members and at least three family members competing in the Kerrville Triathlon, where our distinguished secretary, Kristy Vandenberg, came in third in her category.  Stephen Schmerbeck and his sons, Greg Appel and Rex Boyland also were among the huge number of competitors.  Way to go, Gang!

 

    And Dr. Bret Ford can be doubly proud; two of his sons were on the field as Tivy clobbered a San Antonio high school Friday night.  His older son, Trevor, played most of the game as a defensive back,  and his younger, Lance, came in at quarterback and threw a SEVENTY-SEVEN-YARD TOUCHDOWN PASS ON HIS FIRST PLAY FROM SCRIMMAGE AS A MEMBER OF THE VARSITY!!  Not bad for a sophomore!     These boys certainly can affirm that Tivy Fight Never Dies! 

 

     I'm afraid I have to end on a sad note.  Dr. Tony Jorgensen, an orthopedic surgeon and one of our members, has passed away in Nacogdoches.  He lived in Hunt.   Please keep that family in your prayers.
