Kristy Vandenberg announced that the new Rotary Service Above Self student scholarship was awarded to Hunter Bradshaw, from Comfort High School.

Hunter spoke to our club last year about his trip to Peru, and after learning more about Rotary, he organized an Interact club at Comfort High school.  He recruited about thirty students for the club, and although he graduated from high school this year, the club is set up with officers and projects to continue into the next school year. He attended several leadership events this year, including Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).

Although our club awards $2,000.00 scholarships every year to deserving local students, Hunter received this new $5,000.00 scholarship for both his academic achievements and ongoing committment to service in the community. He will be attending UTSA this fall, majoring in physics.
