On November 6, our club hosted 49 veterans and their guests to a wonderful breakfast and fellowship at our Veterans Breakfast event held at the Hill Country Veterans Center.

This committee, made up of a large contingent of Satellite Club members and Noon Club members as well! They did an excellent job of honoring our military veterans in a safe, socially-distant environment. They took great care in planning to implement masked, gloved single serving stations and individually-wrapped food items.

Thank you all for representing our club so well, recognizing and honoring our community's military hero veterans.

Christmas Cards to Fight Polio

Rotary International has created a wonderful fundraising effort for PolioPlus efforts, offering a Christmas Card campaign in a very unique way.

These Christmas cards are designed in a way that explains to the recipient that the card was purchased in their honor to help continue the fight to eradicate polio. There will be text that describes how the card was purchased with the recipient in mind. The cost of the card will help to vaccinate 16 children for a lifetime free of the crippling effects of the polio virus.

The Christmas Cards are $10 each and will be a very personal, thoughtful gift for family and friends. IN ADDITION, your purchase will be counted toward your Paul Harris Fellowship goals. ALSO, it would be a great way for those who don't normally contribute to the Foundation to do so.

Please consider participating in this program. We will need to order what we need for our club, so please let us know your interest level.

Here's a sample of the cards:

Blood Drive

Our next South Texas Blood & Tissue Center Blood Drive will be Dec. 8 at the Hill Country Youth Event Center. We moved the drive to this location to accommodate the many donors that tried to participate on Sept. 29, but could not get an appointment.

You know how personal this project is to me, but more importantly, the STBTC has issued multiple dire pleas for help for blood donations because of an ongoing shortage caused by COVID-19.

I hope you will consider donating blood on this day. I will send the appointment link once it is supplied to me.

Lot's to be proud of

Our club is doing great things in our community and it is all because of each of you. Thank you so much for your commitment to SERVICE ABOVE SELF and the Rotary Club of Kerrville vision.

I look forward to seeing each of you Wednesday (in-person or virtually).

Families in Rotary: Congrats to the Ingram High School girls volleyball team for a great season. They played their final game of the playoffs, and ended with a 29-1 record.
