Blood Drive was a Suscess
My heart is full as I write this e-mail, thinking of all of our members who gave blood today in honor of my mom, Patsy Moczygemba.
We filled all 40 slots in a week and I had members say they tried to sign up, but could not due to the schedule being full. For all of you who gave blood, or tried to .... thank you so very much. While it may be personal to me, the truth is the South Texas Blood & Tissue Center needs these donations badly. I've seen first-hand how important these donations are to individuals and their families.
We have set our next blood drive date as Dec. 8, tentatively. I will keep you updated on the details, but just wanted to take the time to say "Thank You!"
Thank you also to Tim Crenwelge for hosting our blood drive at his Crenwelge Motors dealership.
Pints for Polio
Speaking of answering the call for help ... shortly after sending out my e-mail last week, longtime club members Bob Schmerbeck and Doug Whinnery volunteered to serve as co-chairs of this event! Wow!
The event will be held Oct. 24, which is World Polio Day, at River Star Park Pavilion. We did not want to cancel or postpone the event, because we are SO CLOSE to eradicating Polio worldwide! However, we did believe that an outdoor event would allow for social distancing and the fresh air atmosphere is a better alternative.
We held our first planning meeting on Friday and are formulating our subcommittees. Please take the time to volunteer to help with this event. We need lots of help to make this event happen.
To volunteer in any capacity you can, please contact Bob at or Doug at
Bob and Doug went right to work and announced yesterday that our first corporate sponsor has been secured. THANK YOU CECIL ATKISSION MOTORS, who signed up for our highest title sponsor level!
