Jonas Titus, KEDC (Kerrville Economic Development Corporation) executive director, gave the presentation last Wednesday. Recent job expansion has been very beneficial for the Kerrville area, most notably with Mooney and James Avery expanding their operations in the area. Their current projects will have an impact for the next several years, as workers are hired and the ripple effect of that additional income is felt in the community.
KEDC’s goal is to bring in employers, jobs and new dollars from outside the area to help grow the economy.  The current tax burden is roughly 70% residential and 30% commercial, but a healthy goal would be a 50-50  split, and KEDC is working toward that number.

Charlie McIlvain introduced Jonas.
