We can be proud that some of our club members have been honored for long and dedicated service to our community:
- Raye and Dub Haney were named Lifetime Honorary Members of the Kerrville Area Chamber of Commerce, and Feb. 28 will be Dub and Raye Haney Day. That's the anniversary of the day in 1980 when they joined the chamber.
Dub has served on the Chamber Board of Directors and Raye was a Chamber Ambassador for more than 20 years.
- Our Past District Governor Doug Whinnery was named Salvation Army Board Member of the Year last week, when that Corps held its annual Circle of Service Banquet.
And our longtime member Carol Nagle continues to need our prayers, as she deals with colo-rectal cancer. I understand that Carol has completed the daily radiation that was the first phase of her treatment, but is still awfully sick.
If you haven't already seen it, I hope that all of you will take note of the mention of our club in my column on the Editorial Page of today's Kerrville Daily Times.
I'm home from the hospital and resting per orders of my doctors and, especially my caregiver and Better Half, Verna.
Verna and I are very grateful for all of the visits, phone calls and emails while I've been ill. I hope to see you next Wednesday.
Many thanks,
Joseph Benham, Chairman, Family in Rotary Committee
