Prayers for Lucy Ortiz Wilke she broke her ankle. How you ask? Soooo...how I broke my ankle: I was walking the dogs out of town. They saw another dog. They were pulling toward the other dog, I was pulling the opposite way. I was on a slight incline on some gravel and fell and broke THREE bones in my ankle. My foot was literally to the side like a broken up zombie. Completely crooked. It was awful. My dogs usually don’t pull like that - sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. I had hiking boots on but wasn’t wearing socks and they were on loose because I was just taking them for a quick 7 AM potty walk. As you can see, they feel very bad about it. Friends! Thank you for your prayers and good vibes! I’m home and just had a yummy dinner of jasmine rice and apples by Chef Ken Wilke! Surgery went from 12:00-2:30 PM and while the injury was bad, Dr. Morris, is pleased with the outcome. We are so blessed to have him right here in our community! I got home at 5:00PM and slept until 7:00 PM! This is so dejavu! I’m even wearing the same color nail polish as when I broke my left ankle in Colorado in 2016! Thank you for your prayers, good vibes, Facebook comments, texts, etc. I really appreciate them. Y’all are awesome friends! It will be a long healing process but I know I have friends who have had or have worse, so I’m ready to follow doctor’s orders and am thankful that my situation is not worse and will be all behind me soon. In addition, I have a great team at work capable of holding down the fort in my absence and as I work remotely from home for a while. Thank you again! |
