New President Robin discussed her plans for the 2018-2019 Rotary year with the club.
She stressed that we will continue to build on many of our current programs, including the Walk-A-Fun, Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Effort, Veteran's Appreciation Breakfast, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Water Safety & Literacy Program (Josh the Otter) & more.
However, Robin is also spicing things up with some new additions this year - see below:
- We will host an inaugural First Responders Golf Tournament in honor of the brave men and women who serve and protect us here in our communities.
- We will work with local school districts and provide grants for innovative projects in the STEM subject areas (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) to assist teachers in funding these initiatives, especially where funding may not otherwise be available (or may be insufficient for their needs).
- We will also increase our Rise Against Hunger meal output to 36K meals thanks to some shrewd investigative work and negotiating by our new and past presidents who helped lower our cost-per-meal for the upcoming 2018 effort!

We have a big year planned, and Robin, as well as the rest of the new board, are looking for volunteers to step up and help out with this ambitious effort. Here's to a great 2018-2019 Rotary Year!!
