          Congratulations to Rachel Ann Reast on her graduation from Schreiner Universityearlier this month, and to her parents, club members Rosalie and David Reast.

 

          Kudos go to our former club president and trumpet maestro, George Eychner, for his solo work in the "Memorial Memories" concert by the Sentimental Journey Orchestra, last Sunday at the Cailloux Theater.

 

          And warm thanks go to Sonja Johnson, wife of our former club President Randy, and to George Eychner for braving the rain and high water to come to the Cailloux Theater and perform patriotic numbers, as well as "Taps" played by George, during the Memorial Day observance.

 

          Another of our past presidents, Brian Bondy, and his wife Jean came through the flooding in San Marcos in good shape, but some of their neighbors were not so fortunate.   As we heard from our Red Cross club member, there's still a huge need for volunteers and cash donations even after the water subsides.
