Events

The Rotary Club of Kerrville will be presenting information on Water Safety and emphasizing Literacy with the Josh the Otter program at Hunt Elementary on Thursday, April 30th.

There will be two sessions in the morning, the first for 2nd graders 8:30am-9am and the second for 3rd graders 9:15am-9:45am.

At this location, our focus will be on how to be safe around the water and the importance of floating on your back if unexpectedly falling into the water.  

All Rotarian Volunteers will be encouraged to help with the presentation/reading and to be at the school no later than 8:15am for the first session.

*** Special Consideration:  Hunt Elementary lost 2 of their students who were in the 2nd and 3rd grades during last year's 4th of July event.  I have assured the Principal that we will not use the word "drown" and we will keep the presentation positive.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at the Hill Country Youth Ranch Ingram Campus on Thursday, April 30th, at 3 PM.  Gordon Brown is the Lead.  We will need 3 to 4 Rotarians.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Tom Daniels Elementary School on Wednesday, May 6th, at 1:20 and 2:15 PM.  Stockton Williams is the Lead.  We will need 5 to 6 Rotarians, as each session will have about 100 students.  As the Rotary Picnic is also this day in the evening, there should be no meeting conflict.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Ingram Elementary School on Thursday, May 7th, at 10 AM for the Second Graders and 11 AM for the Third Graders.  Kristy Shepherd is the Lead.  We will need 5 to 6 Rotarians.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Harper Elementary School on Thursday, May 7th, at 1:00 and 1:40 PM.  Kristy Vandenberg is the Lead.  We will need 3 to 4 Rotarians.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Comfort Elementary School on Wednesday, May 13th, at 8:40 and 9:30 AM.  George and Judy Eychner are the Leads.  We will need 5 to 6 Rotarians.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Nimitz Elementary School on Wednesday, May 13th, at 2 PM for the Second Graders and 2:30 PM for the Third Graders.  Judy and George Eychner are the Leads.  We will need 5 to 6 Rotarians.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.

We will present the Josh the Baby Otter Water Safety Program at Center Point Elementary School on Thursday, May 14th, at 8:00 and 8:45 AM.  Lindsey Gulledge is the Lead.  We will need 3 to 4 Rotarians.  Please plan to arrive 20 to 30 minutes early for setup.
